Jessica Ho

Marketing Specialist

Functioning as a deep generalist, I touch all parts of product and marketing, with a primary focus on social brand, email retention, marketing coordination, and in-house product expertise. My day-to-day is both strategic and tactical on all marketing fronts, and my spare time is dedicated to absorbing data learnings, cross-departmental knowledge, and workflow optimization.

My journey

I started out working in web and print journalism at Sine Theta Magazine (sinθ) when I was 17 years old, honing both an editorial and internet savvy to promote artists of the Sino diaspora. After I started studying Communication and Cinematic Arts at the University of Southern California right here in LA, I transitioned into a new job as a journalist and editor for the film school’s think-tank, ETC@USC — proofreading white papers, writing newsletters, and editing their trades blog. Between part-time jobs, I worked in film production and development, which entailed driving a lot of other people’s cars and spilling a lot of coffee.

Graduating into a pandemic, I transmuted my journalistic background into a freelance copywriting portfolio that I could manage from home until it was safe to cough in public without mortification. My clients included companies like Evercast, Raconteur, and WICKED+. I then spent some time learning the ropes of content marketing at Crexi, and dove deeper into the world of performance-driven marketing.

Why I choose to work here every day.

No matter the environment I’m in, I always seek to be the most synergetic piece of a larger puzzle. As opposed to a “team player,” I work more as an empathic solution-seeker. In the context of working at Demand, I always seek to steward a path of outcomes-driven process, mission-driven discussion, and values-driven compromise. I carry this ethos both at and outside of work, because I believe great outcomes are driven by cohesion and understanding.

3 things I go all in for.

1

Nintendo Games

I will never outgrow my love for the simple joys of franchises like Pokémon, The Legend of Zelda, Fire Emblem, Super Mario Brothers, Kirby, and so forth — I can’t resist the charm of both the gameplay and the branding!

2

Music Production

I’m not much of a musician myself, but I nerd out to well-produced music! A few of my favorites are Dem Jointz, The Stereotypes, Murda Beatz, D’Mile, Moonshine, Metro Boomin, and LDN Noise.

3

Muay Thai

I like the versatility of Muay Thai in stand-up striking, and the cool shorts aren’t so bad either.
